Usage
After the campaign manager is installed and configured, its usage consists of six main steps.
Creating campaigns
From the Campaign Manager app you can create and manage campaigns. Click Add campaign schedule to add a new campaign. You are required to provide the following parameters for a new campaign:
-
Name: Give your campaign a meaningful name so that content editors are able to tell one campaign from another.
-
Description: Set a meaningful description to help the other editors to understand the purpose of the campaign.
-
Priority: In case of overlapping campaigns, the system will use that property to prioritise the campaigns.
-
Color: The color to use to identify the campaign in the consolidate calendar view.
-
Schedule: Give the campaign schedule.
Creating slots
You need to define the names of the different types of campaigns you want to use, such as seasonal promotions, special events, or new product launches. The Slots tab allows you to create the name of each campaign category and give it a short description.
Creatives contain campaign content. Each creative is linked to a slot defined on the Slots tab, which you also add to the site page where the campaign should appear.
Creating creatives
The campaign acts as a container for the campaign items (aka Creatives). A campaign item is an element of the campaign for defining content. You are required to provide the following parameters for a new campaign item:
-
Name: Each campaign item should define a meaningful name. In most cases "Banner" can be used as a name.
-
Template: Select the campaign template to be used. Campaign templates are defined in the module configuration.
-
Slot: Tagging helps identify campaigns of a certain type or category.
Adding slots to pages
When everything is configured, and you’ve created the campaign, slot, and associated creative as described above, you can add a Campaign managed component
to the webpage where you want the campaign placed.
After adding the component, a dialog opens that allows you to select the slot you want. Saving the changes feeds the campaign content associated with the slot into the component.
Scheduled campaigns
The Campaign Manager includes a Calendar tab for planning and scheduling campaigns. This feature provides a visual representation of all ongoing and upcoming campaigns, allowing teams to:
-
Avoid overlaps and ensure optimal timing.
-
Allocate resources effectively.
-
Coordinate with other marketing activities.
The calendar color-codes campaigns for easy identification and prioritization.
